The healing Herb Meadowsweet

Meadowsweet - Filipendula Ulmaria
Found very frequently around Ireland's grasslands, national parks, seasides and country sides.
The Celts had amazing knowledge of this plant if they suffered from pain they would chew on the flowers and chew on the stalks which ironically contain a natural compound which is the main ingredient in ASPIRIN.
It works as a pain killer and an anti-inflammatory drug.
They are smarter than we taught!
This plant flowers from June to September and even sometimes into late October, pale yellow flowers that smell of Honey! yum yum
Its Irish name is Airegead Luachra (Rush Silver), But beware this plant in lg doses can become a diuretic. basically it can make you pee a lot. Which is great because it helps to clean the liver and kidneys of many toxins.
MEADOWSWEET - is safe to use and has no harmful side effects it can be given to children and even given to baby kittens as a tonic for the weaklings of the litter.
There are many uses for example:
Boil with honey and lemon as a cold and flu pleaser.
Mash blackberries with meadowsweet into a paste mix with 2 lbs of honey then boil with a little bit of water and jar it you can,
To use: dissolve a tablespoon it in a mug of hot water. YUM YUM
Helps to make you vitamin C stores rise and help with the aches of pains with flu and colds. Just like "lempsit" without the chemical processes and additions
Chew on it if ya have a head ache , tooth ache, PMS
Used in an oil for rheumatism.
